Raise your hand if your door could use a little refreshment! I know mine could. Sometimes there is a Break after the big end-of-year holidays and the decoration after the New Year is sometimes a little lacking. But what a shame! In my humble opinion, the cold and dreary winter months after Christmas are the ones we need help with the most.

We all need something to control the seasonal descent, especially when the snow doesn’t want to fly and the flowers won’t be here for a few months. Well, today we are here to help you with an adorable new Crown that is both simple and beautiful. It’s just the thing for a quick Valentine’s Day decoration and the difference it makes to keep our mood is excellent. Here is our new brand of DIY paper hearts!

DIY paper heart wreath

For me, Valentine’s Day requires beautiful and at the same time easy to make decorations. We are all back from the holidays, which means we don’t have as much downtime as the Christmas holidays gave us. This DIY accordion wreath paper is the perfect solution! Made with personalized gradients that fold into a heart, it is easy to make and the result is a beautiful accordion gradient crown that will put you in harmony with the day of love. I know I’m so sick of seeing all the browns, so this was a breath of fresh air. Sweet roses to welcome me after a long day? Yes, please! If, like me, you’re tired of seeing all that brown on the outside, try this adorable crown for a change.

How to make a DIY paper heart

Without further ado, here’s how to make your own DIY Wreath Paper heart.

Preparing the hearts

First, print three copies of the PDF document of our paper heart gradient that you can find here. You should end up with 45 sheets of Paper, each with a different gradient.
Then cut each gradient.

Starting with one of the flat edges of the gradient, fold a thin strip along the flat edge about 1/4 inch wide.

Continue stacking the folds back and forth, making an accordion fold.

Continue until you reach the Other Flat Edge. You should now have a long, thin strip of paper about 1/4 inch wide.

Now fold the stack in half.

To complete your heart, hot glue the center along the flat edge.

When the glue is dry, gently pull the Paper to reveal the heart shape.

Prepare the shape of your thread

To prepare the crown shape, cut a long, narrow strip of light pink crepe paper (about an inch thick).

Now wrap the crepe paper around the shape of your wire wreath and secure it with hot glue on the go.

Continue until the entire shape of the wreath is covered with a layer of crepe paper. Add an extra layer if you want it to be a little thicker.

Now you are ready to assemble your DIY paper heart!

Using your hot glue gun, apply a dollop of glue to each heart and press it onto the crown shape covered with crepe paper.

Continue until the wreath is completely covered and as full as you want it to be. For our Wreath, we only ended up using 35 of the 45 hearts, but if you want, you can always make it a little fuller and add all the hearts. And you can always add a chic ribbon like we did.

That’s it! You are done with your beautiful DIY paper heart wreath!

As you probably already know from the previous wreaths that we have made, you do not need to limit the decoration of your wreath to the front door. Yes, every door is a great place for a wreath, but this is not your only Option. Do you have a white spot on the Mobile Wall? Fill in the blank with your heart wreath! Outside, inside, in front of a window, in a slightly decorated area of the house, there are so many options.
