Learn how to make flowers out of rolled paper and use them to decorate a nice wooden sign.
Rolled paper flowers are really fun and if you have ever tried to make huge paper flowers with each petal cut out separately, you will be happy – this type of flower will fit together much faster!

To make a flower out of rolled paper, you will need:

  • Laminated paper flower stencils (I used these, these, and these)
  • Silhouette Cameo or Cricut electronic cutting machine
  • Glossy Cardboard
  • Hot Glue Gun + Glue Sticks

Step 1

Buy a few different floral patterns made of Laminated Paper in the Silhouette Design store. Open the templates in Silhouette Studio. Adjust the size. For this project, I made flowers of different sizes using 3 to 4 flowers per 8.5×11″ sheet of cardboard. Cut.

If you don’t have an electronic cutting machine, you can still do this craft. It will just take longer. You need to try to cut a shape similar to the one depicted by hand.

Step 2

Shape the petals by rounding them with a pencil.

Step 3

Start from the outer end and wrap the flower. Release the tension until the flower matches the size of the central circle. This will be the base on which you will glue the rolled section. Cover the circle with hot glue, then press the edges of the flower rolled in the glue firmly.

Now it’s time to do something with all the pretty flowers you’ve created!

I took a blank wooden sign from the craft store, arranged my rolled paper flowers in the shape of a heart, then fixed them with hot glue. Isn’t it fun?

It would also be nice to make the first letter of a name or to make flowers for an animal. The possibilities are endless with this part… let your creativity run wild!

It is not the first time that I decorate a painting with rolled paper flowers. I made a patriotic decoration last year and filled an American Mason jar with red, white and blue flowers. Taking a seasonal twist with this craft would be really easy and super cute.
